Porsche – the coolest 356 in the world is the Emory AllRad

Why are such cars no longer built? This question arises automatically as soon as you see the first all-wheel drive Porsche 356. This car combines the elegance of the classic 356 with the virtues of the later rally Porsche. In addition, there is a classic bad car look that you will probably never get from a series manufacturer.

The Californian Rod Emory was born with a Porsche, his father was a workshop master. His grandfather, Neil Emory, was a legendary hot rod designer. Rod Emory dedicated his life to the Porsche 356. His daring conversions are not for classic car purists – but over time, the quality and look of his “356 Outlaws” has prevailed. Rod and his wife, Amy, have a simple goal: to build the hottest 356 on the planet.

All of their creations confuse the senses, but this model is the coolest of them all. The name of the new 356 Outlaw is simply “AllRad”. For the all-wheel drive, the body of a 356 from the 60s was married to the all-wheel drive of a 911 4S from the 90s and an Emory-Rothsport Outlaw 4 engine. Little was really original about this operation.

Construction on customer request

The impetus is said to have been given by a Porsche fan who dreamed of driving a 356 that could safely gain a foothold on snow, sand and scree. He wanted a 356 with rally capabilities. At this request, Emory jumped immediately. The construction is said to have taken a full four years, because the drive of the 911 had to be shortened for the compact 356. The body was given a more powerful appearance, it was widened for the track of the 911. The AllRad-Outlaw is not powered by a Porsche engine, but by an engine built by Rothsport Racing with a displacement of 2.4 liters and an output of 200 hp. The machine is of course ventilated by Weber carburetors.

On top of that, a custom-made titanium beam was mounted on the roof. It offers space for bicycles, skis and other important outdoor equipment. The body was cleaned and upgraded with small details. In addition to the rally lights, the wearer in particular creates their very own look. Individual seats, a roll cage and a green carpet create a distinctive interior. The cabin was lined with green leather and green fabric.

Thanks to the weight of only 975 kilograms, the 200 hp of the engine should transform the all-wheel drive into an off-road rocket. The price is not known, after all, the model is a one-off production for a customer.
