Porsche broke a record at the Nürburgring and released a spectacular video from the cockpit.
Never before has a standard electric car been faster on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring.
Development driver Lars Kern needed 7:33 minutes for one lap in a Porsche Taycan Turbo S, beating the previous record holder, the Tesla Model S Plaid.
“We are very pleased that the Nürburgring record for electric cars is now back with Porsche,” says Kevin Giek, head of the Taycan series.
The new best time was made possible by the special equipment Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and a new performance kit with racing tyres.
The operator of the Nürburgring has confirmed the official electric car record of the Porsche Taycan in a press release.
