With plenty of snow from the side of the road, a 59-year-old man extinguished the fire in his car on Autobahn 71 in Lower Franconia. As the police announced, the man suddenly noticed flames on the vehicle on the A71 near Poppenhausen (Schweinfurt district) on Wednesday. He was able to “prevent something worse” due to the snow that had remained on the ground over the past few days.
Emergency services towed away the car, which was no longer drivable. According to the information, the officers also discovered that the 54-year-old passenger had an open wanted list. After this was completed, he continued his journey.
