It was an emotional moment for singer Adele: she met an old friend on a TV show full of celebrities.
Singer Adele (33) met her former teacher with tears of joy. “She was so damn cool, so engaging, and she managed that we care, and we knew that she would take care of us and things like that,” said the British woman on the ITV show, “An Audience with .. . Adele ”, which the TV station broadcast on Sunday evening.
To the surprise of the singer (“30”), her former teacher sat in the audience – and then came to her on stage, where the women hugged for a long time and Adele’s tears blurred their make-up. “And my teacher Miss McDonald was there, it was like heaven,” tweeted the superstar.
Adele said she was always looking forward to the English class because of Mrs. McDonald. “She left us when I was in 8th grade, but she really got me into literature. I’ve always been obsessed with English and obviously I now write lyrics. ” Adele responded to a question from actress Emma Thompson about who inspired her when she was young. The Oscar winner then moderated McDonald.
In addition to Thompson, the broadcast recorded in London at the beginning of November also saw numerous other celebrities in the audience, including the English national soccer coach Gareth Southgate, the actors Emma Watson, Idris Elba and Samuel L. Jackson and the singers Boy George, Paul McCartney and Stormzy. Adele had released her first album in many years on Friday.
