The big music festival in Denmark had to be canceled twice due to corona. But things should start again next year. The first names of the artists have been determined.
After two years of Corona cancellations, the Danish Roskilde Festival wants to report back on stage with a British pop star in 2022.
Dua Lipa (26, “Levitating”) will be the headliner of the festival, which will take place from June 25th to July 2nd, 2022 in the city of Roskilde around 30 kilometers west of Copenhagen. The organizers announced this on Tuesday on the festival website. In total, they published 23 names of musicians and bands who will perform at the largest festival in Scandinavia. These include the US rapper Tyler, the Creator and the American pop-rock group Haim.
In the two previous years, the festival had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic. A total of up to 85,000 participants should be able to take part in the 50th edition, which is still outstanding. Many ticket holders from the previous year kept their tickets for this year, which is why only 5000 tickets will go on sale on Thursday. The organizers also want to give young music lovers under the age of 25 the chance to be in Roskilde for the first time. In a month and a half, 5,000 special tickets are to be sold for them.
