After a long break, it’s back to the big stage. Britpop pioneers Bur perform at London’s famous Wembley Stadium this summer.

The British rock band Blur (“Song 2”, “Beetlebum”) returns to the big stage next summer after several years. On July 8, 2023, the Britpop icons will play at London’s famous Wembley Stadium. Blur announced this on Monday. It is the first time since 2015 that singer and songwriter Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree will play a concert together.

“We really enjoy playing these songs and thought it was time to do it again,” Blur frontman Albarn, 54, told the PA news agency. His bandmate Alex James (53) added: “It’s always something special when the four of us are in a room together. It’s a nice thought that this room will be Wembley Stadium on July 8th.” Advance ticket sales for the concert in London begin on Friday. Further appearances were initially not planned.

Blur released their debut album “Leisure” in 1991. The quartet defined the then emerging Britpop sound with their third album “Parklife” from 1994, which contained hits like “Girls & Boys”, “End Of A Century” and “To The End”. The eighth and last Blur studio album “The Magic Whip” was released in 2015.
