Polygon, an Ethereum layer 2 developer, offers MATIC upgrades, subject to approval from the Polygon community. Upgrading will result in renaming the token to POL.

POL’s utilities cover all Polygon protocols, including Polygon PoS, zkEVM, and Supernets.

If the upgrade offer passes Redesigned protocol architecture It introduces features such as infinite scalability , and no conflict between any two protocols.
In May, Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal said Web3 games would become one of the biggest drivers of mass crypto adoption.
