Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) showed himself to be self-critical at the end of the year. “I myself have learned that the brisk announcement of measures alone is not enough. We have to explain better, take more time for the worries of the people and try to take everyone with us,” said Söder in his New Year’s address, which was distributed in advance on Thursday.
One should not “only see Corona virologically” and must now “try to heal and reconcile our society again. That is certainly the most important task besides fighting the pandemic,” with which the Prime Minister was overall satisfied. There have been mistakes and keep making mistakes, but Bavaria is stable despite Corona, said Söder. In particular, he thanked everyone who was vaccinated against the virus.
