Political Correctness in the Museum: The Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge – Culture

A few years ago a visitor destroyed three Chinese vases worth hundreds of thousands of pounds. Until then, this was the worst thing that had happened to the Fitzwilliam Museum at Cambridge University. The house not only has a significant collection of ancient art from Egypt, Sudan, Greece and Rome, but also European ceramics, glasses, furniture, clocks, fans, armor, coins, medals, gems, Chinese, Japanese and Korean art and of course carpets. There are said to be almost 200,000 works of art and artifacts. Books are also included, including a valuable music manuscript: the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book. Now there is obviously a new danger here.
