Police record more than 150 missions for premature cracking – Munich

Since Thursday, when the sale of New Year’s Eve firecrackers and rockets began, the police have recorded more than 150 operations in the city and district of Munich because of the premature and therefore illegal ignition. With sometimes expensive consequences: A hedge caught fire in the area of Dülferstraße in Hasenbergl. The police estimate the damage at several thousand euros. Witnesses claim to have seen several young people throw pyrotechnic objects into the hedge.

As early as 9.40 a.m., the police found a 17-year-old who set off a firecracker on Föhringer Allee. He will have to answer for an administrative offense under the Explosives Act.

Many citizens would have complained to the police emergency call about the early cracking. In most cases, the streaks would not have found anyone. In some cases, groups of children or young people were caught. They had been instructed insistently that they were violating the Explosives Act when they ignited firecrackers and rockets. The police partially secured the fireworks and handed them over to the parents.
