Police officer saves swan – Bavaria

With a courageous jump into the cold water, a police officer saved a swan from a Rottweiler on Friday in Lappersdorf (Regensburg district). The dog had been chasing the bird for a long time when the alarmed law enforcement officers arrived. As the police reported on Saturday, an officer jumped into the eleven-degree cold river Regen, swam to the dog, put it on a leash and brought it to the shore. A bold effort, not only because of the temperature: Rottweilers belong to category II of fighting dogs. The dog owner was on site and is being investigated. Swan and policeman were unharmed.
