The protesters resisted when the forces tried to break up the unannounced demonstration. Several officers were injured, and one of them had to be taken to the hospital.
According to police, 13 emergency services were injured in violent clashes during an unannounced demonstration against Corona measures in Mannheim.
Accordingly, the protesters had ignored the ban on gathering and resisted when the police wanted to end their elevator. One of the officers was taken to the hospital. 13 people were arrested because of the attacks, it said. It will be checked whether a demonstrator could be brought before a judge for bodily harm. Another 131 people were reported for violations of the assembly law.
There was also a protest in Weinheim (Rhein-Neckar district) with 100 participants. Emergency services, two of whom were injured. Other demonstrations, for example in Heidelberg, took place peacefully. The meetings were not registered.
