This Saturday, several demonstrations were again registered in downtown Hamburg. Two of them were banned by the Assembly Authority in connection with the ongoing conflict in Israel and Palestine. The Hamburg police once again supervised this and Hamburger SV’s second division match against 1. FC Magdeburg with a high level of force.

Demo location:

Two elevators with the tenor “Against anti-Muslim racism!” were scheduled for early Saturday afternoon. and “For Sustainable Peace – End the Occupation in Palestine!” registered that were banned by the assembly authority in the course of the examination process. The prohibition orders were communicated to those registering and they complied with them in full, so that no police action resulted from this.

In addition, an elevator under the tenor “United!” registered for 12:30 p.m. and confirmed by the assembly authority. After the first participants had gathered on Hansaplatz as planned, the procession started at 1:45 p.m. on the planned route. Initially, the emergency services observed a few people who had put on masks. After consulting with the leader of the meeting, she approached the participants in a targeted manner and was able to immediately have the mask removed. The elevator was then able to continue its route as planned. At around 4:30 p.m., after the final rally in the Neuer Pferdemarkt/Neuer Kamp area, the demonstration was ended by the meeting leader. The former elevator participants then promptly left. At its peak, around 800 people took part in this demonstration, which overall was non-violent.

Football:

The 2nd Bundesliga game between Hamburger SV and 1. FC Magdeburg kicked off as planned at 8:30 p.m. There were no relevant events leading up to the encounter.
