Poinger folk festival: the calm before the storm – Ebersberg

After two years of a forced break due to Corona, the folk festival in Poing is celebrating its big comeback from this Friday. By the time the beer is tapped in the evening, the final work on the festival grounds at the Hanselbrunn will have been completed, so that everything is ready for a hearty festive season. The Poinger Volksfest will last until Sunday, July 17th. This is now in its ninth edition, but there is a premiere this year: Poing’s mayor Thomas Stark will not tap the first barrel, but District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß himself. “It’s a big gesture and symbolizes our good cooperation. The Poinger Volksfest is a great festival that everyone in the district knows and appreciates,” he says, apparently quite pleased with the unexpected honor. From 5.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, the procession will move in the direction of the beer tent. 39 clubs, institutions and groups, dressed in festive clothes, pull from the main street to the Hanselbrunn in floats, carriages and carriages to follow the tapping in the marquee.
