Pogba will not “let go” to return to the top despite a “very complicated” year

Juventus Turin midfielder Paul Pogba, again injured at the end of a dotted season, assured Sunday that he would “not let go” and was going to “give his all to get back to the top” despite a “very, very complicated year”.

“The year has been very, very complicated with the problems outside football and (on) the field”, he underlines in a video posted on Instagram, in reference to his repeated injuries but also to the affair of attempt of extortion in an organized gang targeting him, and in which his brother Mathias Pogba is notably involved.

“Off the pitch, it was really difficult for me, what happened, it was hard especially mentally, I tried to take refuge in what I love, playing football, flourishing on the pitch but that was not the case because physically, I had a lot of glitches, ”adds the Frenchman, 30, world champion in 2018.

“I just have to be patient. Mentally, it’s much better, ”says the star of the Blues, who returned to Juve last summer after six years at Manchester United.

This return season has been a real ordeal for the “Pioche” because of a right knee injury in July, during the preparation for the season, which required an operation in early September and deprived him of the World Cup-2022.

Unavailable until February, he again had to stop for a month in March after a right thigh injury. He was finally finding some regularity since mid-April when he was injured again on May 14, during his first start of the season. Injured in the quadriceps of the left thigh, his season is probably over.

“We keep hope, we have faith (…) Mentally and physically, I will do my best to get back to the top, help my team, the club, to win titles, that’s why I came”, assures in his message the one who has not played in the France team since March 2022 (91 selections) concluding: “I will not let go, I will give my maximum.”
