Will cannabis soon be legal in Germany? A traffic light coalition makes that very likely. Georg Wurth, who has been fighting for it for 20 years, explains what legalization looks like and what it could mean for the state and citizens.

The FDP is in favor of it for economic reasons, the Greens are anyway and at least Karl Lauterbach has already changed his mind about the SPD: It’s about the legalization of cannabis. Since the possible traffic light coalition announced that it would include the issue in the coalition agreement, a social debate has flared up. Damage to health on the one hand, tax revenues from legal cultivation and less drug crime on the other. If it were up to Georg Wurth, hemp would have been legal for 20 years. He is the owner of the interest group “Deutscher Hanfverband” and says that we have never been so close to legalization as we are now.

Anti-Semitic insults against singer Gil Ofarim

Was Gil Ofarim insulted anti-Semitically in Leipzig or not? On a video that went viral two weeks ago, the singer tells of an incident in a hotel in Leipzig and demonstratively holds his chain with a Star of David into the camera. Pictures from that evening have now been published to show that Gil Ofarim allegedly did not wear this necklace. This is classic perpetrator-victim reversal, comments podcast host Michel Abdollahi: “The hatred that Gil Ofarim is now facing is unbearable and clearly shows how widespread anti-Semitism is in our society.”

Viennese museums show art on an erotic platform

Too sexy for social networks – these are supposed to be famous works of art that are exhibited in major museums in Vienna. Platforms like Instagram or Facebook repeatedly censor female nipples or other body parts in historical paintings. For advertising reasons, Viennese museums have now opted for an unusual approach: They show provocative works of art on the erotic platform “Only Fans” for five euros a month.
