Wood, heating, gasoline – prices are rising. Why is that and how can consumers behave internally? Be economical, says expert Claudia Kemfert. She is professor of energy economics and policy and heads the Energy, Transport and Environment department at the German Institute for Economic Research in Berlin. Kemfert criticizes a crisis with announcement, in which climate protection is the logical answer: “With the energy transition, climate protection is the right answer to these fossil energy price jumps, because it helps us to save energy and to rely more on domestic alternatives.”

New Zealand dismisses its magician
Probably the only officially commissioned magician in the world was in office for more than 20 years. For almost 10,000 euros a year, the New Zealand congregation in Christchurch commissioned 88-year-old Ian Brackenbury Channell for “magical acts and other magic-like services”. In the past few years, Channell had repeatedly attracted attention in television shows and interviews with misogynistic statements. However, it is not known whether this was the reason for his release.
