Artificial intelligence composes like Beethoven

Now a computer has composed Beethoven’s 10th Symphony, which he was unable to finish himself. A team of musicologists and programmers fed a computer with music by Beethoven and contemporaries in order to teach the machine to compose like Beethoven.
The result was premiered last Saturday and was approved by a huge amount of applause. However, those involved emphasized that it was an experiment and not about questioning Beethoven’s uniqueness. Rather, they want to show how creative collaboration between human and artificial intelligence can work.
