Pocket Pair: Microsoft helps with the further development of Palworld

That often as “Pokémon with machine guns” Survival game Palworld receives technical help from Microsoft. “We provide support to enable dedicated servers and provide technical resources for GPU and memory optimization”writes the company in a company blog.

They also want to help the Japanese development studio Pocket Pair “the process by which Palworld updates are made available to players”to accelerate.

Specifically, this is about the Xbox version – although at least some of the improvements should also benefit the PC version; A version for Playstation 5 or Nintendo Switch has not yet been announced.

Around two weeks after the release of Palworld (played on Golem.de) on January 19, 2024, Microsoft and Pocket Pair published figures for the console version for the first time. So far there are said to be more than 7 million players on Xbox One and Series X/S.

In the Xbox Game Pass game subscription, Palworld is now the most successful title from a third-party manufacturer – so far it has been high on life (test on Golem.de). In addition, Palworld now holds the record for the most used third-party game on the first day via the Xbox Cloud Gaming game streaming service – although the competition may not have been particularly great.

Palworld: More than 19 million users in just a few days

The version for Windows PC also continues to sell extremely well: according to the development studio more than 12 million copies sold, so there are more than 19 million Palword players worldwide. However, the manufacturer did not say how many buyers had now lost interest in the title.

Palworld sends players into a colorful world to collect Pals – these are chickens and sheep, but also wild animals and monsters that are somewhat reminiscent of Pokémon. You can build a settlement with the Pals and explore the freely accessible surroundings to unlock all sorts of extras and experience adventures.
