A serious traffic accident happened on state road 2332 between Markt Schwaben and Gelting on Monday afternoon. According to the police, a 26-year-old turned off the airport bypass in his car and wanted to continue towards Markt Schwaben. He overlooked a 16-year-old who was riding his motorcycle in the direction of Gelting. The young man was thrown from his vehicle after the collision and remained lying in a strip of grass. A new driver dialed the emergency number and provided first aid until the emergency services arrived. The motorcyclist was rushed to hospital by a rescue helicopter with serious injuries. The damage to the car amounted to around 5,000 euros and to the motorcycle around 7,000 euros. The lane had to be closed in both directions for about 45 minutes by the Pliening fire brigade.
