Bungie takeover by Sony: what to expect from this announcement?
After the historic takeover of Activision-Blizzard-King by Microsoft, Sony is also contributing its stone to the building with the announcement of the takeover of Bungie for 3.6 billion dollars. The studio behind Halo and Destiny is a real specialist in FPS and game services, a major sector for the Japanese firm which could suffer from a potential loss of Call of Duty. In fact, this takeover does not really involve major changes. Bungie keeps its independence but Sony recovers the licensing rights of the studio that the multimedia giant will be able to decline in different formats, in particular by Sony Pictures. What’s more, Bungie could also recover suspended licenses and develop new Playstation titles. Take for example Killzone, set aside by Guerrilla to focus on Horizon.

Two new adaptations of video game licenses have recently been formalized. The first concerns It Takes Two, the co-op title of Josef Fares and GOTY 2021. For the moment it is not yet known what format this adaptation will adopt, but it is the DJ2 studio which is in charge of the production., which is already working on projects Tomb Raider, Disco Elysium and Sleeping Dogs. The second will take the form of a series taken from the tortured license Alice from American McGee, much more gory and mature than the Disney version.
