Playstation 5 in stock at Media Markt: Get it now

The Playstation 5 is finally back in stock. But is it worth buying more than two years after the release or should gamers be patient?

The last two years have not been easy for gamers, because their favorite hardware has long been either grossly overpriced or simply unavailable. In the meantime, chip production seems to have recovered, at least that’s what the message from Media Markt suggests. The electronics store has them PlayStation 5 back in stock and selling them for 550 euros in the normal and 450 euros in the digital version without drive. In memory of: When it was launched two years ago, the normal version cost 499 euros and the digital version 399 euros.

Is the Playstation 5 still worth it?

Of course, the question arises as to whether it really makes sense to spend more money on two-year-old hardware than it originally cost. After all, most people’s salaries don’t grow at the same time as inflation. The answer to that is not an easy one. How winfuture citing Tom Henderson (Gaming Insider) reports that Sony is planning to launch its Playstation 5 Pro – a more powerful PlayStation 5 – by the end of 2024.

That’s still a long wait. Gamers will have to wait even longer for the next generation of consoles from the Japanese. According to Henderson, it won’t be on the market before 2028. If you believe that and buy a Playstation 5 now, you play for around 110 euros a year, or just under 9 euros a month plus game costs. It’s not cheap, but let’s be honest: With rising inflation and the same salary, it’s still a reasonable vacation for the brain.
