People over the age of 18 should not be penalized for buying or carrying up to 20 grams of cannabis. That is the plan of Health Minister Karl Lauterbach, writes the editorial network Germany (RND). If you want to sell cannabis, you need a license.

The traffic light parties had agreed in the coalition agreement to legalize cannabis. According to the RND report, key points for a draft law are now available and would be coordinated between the ministries.

Not near schools

According to this, cannabis may only contain 15 percent of the intoxicating active ingredient THC, and only a maximum of ten percent when sold to people between 18 and 21 years of age.

The SPD politician Lauterbach therefore wants to continue to stipulate that cannabis shops, so-called coffee shops, should not be located near schools or youth facilities. Sales tax and a cannabis tax should be levied on the sale.
