Planegg – Researching your own family – District of Munich

Those who would like to do family research are right on trend and have the opportunity to do so this Saturday, October 15th, in Planegg. Although numerous offers on the Internet nowadays offer extensive information, if you have specific questions, you are quickly on your own. Together with the community archive and the Bavarian State Office for Family Studies, the community of Planegg organizes a “Family Research Day” in the rooms of the adult education center on the market square. Here visitors can learn how to interpret old files, and there is also competent help with all questions about exploring one’s own family ties – which, as the association says, is sometimes not that easy despite the documents. In the age of digitization and the worldwide networking of archives, however, there are new possibilities today. With the help of a number of information stands and a few keynote speeches, interested parties are made familiar with the complex topic. Advice is free for visitors. The rooms of the adult education center are open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
