Planegg police should move to Pasinger Strasse – Munich district

The discussion about a new police inspection in Planegg, which has been going on for years, has apparently started to move. Mayor Hermann Nafziger (CSU) has now confirmed that the Free State is negotiating with a Planegger landowner. According to Nafziger, this is an area that he had previously proposed as an interim solution: the site of the former building materials store on Pasinger Straße near the Würm and directly at the roundabout to the Steinkirchen industrial park. Nafziger was optimistic that the talks could soon be successful.

The Planegger Police Inspectorate 46 could then move from the 60-year-old, rather ramshackle building behind the music school in Planegg to a new building. In recent years there have been several attempts to find a suitable plot of land. The only thing that was clear was that the police station should remain in Planegg, because Planegg is fairly centrally located in the Würmtal communities for which PI 46 is responsible.

The old building still needs to be renovated

A demolition of the current building and a new building on this site did not find favor in the municipal council, many municipal councilors want the municipality to use the house they own in the future, for example for apartments or another childcare facility. A new building at Planegger Bahnhof, on the other hand, met with rejection from the police, since arriving and departing on the edge of Bahnhofstrasse is hardly practicable.

So the property on the Würm came up for discussion again. Mayor Nafziger reported on a round table discussion “with everyone involved” and was optimistic. The time plans of the Free State representatives for further use of the previous building had been “bargained down” from at least ten years to just five years. If an agreement is reached, which the mayor assumes, the old police building would have to be renovated in the meantime. That costs a lot of money. However, the mayor assumes that the municipality only has to renew the legally prescribed fire protection, everything else would be paid for by the Free State of Bavaria.

After a refurbishment, demolition would probably no longer be an option.

The new police building on the Würm would then be built in the now planned five years. For reasons of flood protection, it should not border directly on the river. The mayor emphasized that the huge property facing the street still offers enough space. When the police clear the renovated old police building, the municipality wants to find a new use for it, according to Nafziger. A demolition would hardly be an option after a refurbishment. “In any case,” said Nafziger, “we would keep our police inspection 46 in Planegg this way.” Mayor Nafziger wants to present the plans and costs to the municipal councils this Thursday – in a non-public meeting.
