You could save yourself many a driving lesson if you practice operating the car in the first place. This is only possible on official training grounds, such as those of the ADAC in Augsburg and Ingolstadt – both far away from Munich, just to try out starting, shifting, steering and braking. Apparently that’s what a 54-year-old from Munich and his 18-year-old son thought. In order to familiarize themselves with the vehicle, they chose a gravel parking lot on the Klopferspitz in the Martinsried district of Planegg for their driving exercises in a VW Multivan. However, they did not go unnoticed on Monday morning around 11 a.m. According to the police, a patrol from Inspection 46 probably already suspected what was going on there and checked the father and son when the 18-year-old was behind the wheel without a driver’s license. When asked by the officials, he admitted that he had practiced for the upcoming first driving school lesson. Both were reported for driving without a license or for authorizing them to drive without a license. Then the father drove home.
