Combination of schnitzel and pizza: Pizza Hut in Australia is now selling the “Schnitzza”
In Australia, the Pizza Hut company has come up with a special kind of pizza: the “Schnitzza”. A mixture of schnitzel and pizza. But the schnitzel is not the only ingredient for the unusual pizza base.
One might think that a pizza is enough as a meal. You don’t have to combine it with a breaded schnitzel. In Australia, however, the Pizza Hut company apparently thought: Yes, you can do that. The unusual creation with the name “Schnitzza” will be available from December 1st across the country.
The special thing about this is that the pizza topping does not consist of conventional dough, but is actually a circular breaded chicken schnitzel. But that’s not all: The crumbled chicken schnitzel is also covered in tomato sauce and ham and baked with Parmesan cheese.
Pizza Hut offers “Schnitzza” in four variations
Of course, there is also a standard pizza topping on top. There are four options to choose from: “Margherita Schnitzza” with mozzarella, “Hawaiian Schnitzza” with ham and pineapple, “Creamy Ham & Mushroom Schnitzza” with smoky ham, mushrooms and mozzarella, and a “BBQ Beef & Ham Schnitzza” topped with crumbled beef , smoky ham and spicy BBQ sauce. In the store, the “Schnitzza” costs 15 Australian dollars (just under ten euros) and 18 (around eleven euros) on delivery.
“The fusion of crispy chicken schnitzel with delicious pizza toppings has produced the hottest food hybrid of the year. We’re excited to bring Aussies an iconic piece of pub culture in the form of a new pizza,” said Tamsin Lysons, National Marketing Manager of Pizza Hut Australia.
In order to make the latest pizza model really tasty for its customers, the company has announced a live virtual treasure hunt on its Instagram account, where you can win a discount code until December 15th.
See in the video: At home, pizza never tastes like an Italian. One of the reasons for this is that the pizza is baked there in a stone oven. What most do not know, however, is that many ovens have a similar function.
