Considered the “best public high school” in Nice according to several rankings, the Masséna high school today finds itself in the spotlight because of the publications, to say the least, intriguing by an Italian teacher, as revealed Nice morning.
Poems, explicit songs – with sexual content, but also shocking photos where he shows himself with a gun to his temple or a knife under his chin have been the subject of reports on the Pharos platform. Parents of students, some of whom, minors, would have been redirected to the profiles of the 50-year-old teacher, are worried. The rectorate has launched an investigation.
What content raises questions?
On his YouTube channel which combines film extracts, demonstration videos, political debates and even landscapes (a very heterogeneous content), the teacher also sings certain refrains of his own creation. “Pansexual loves everyone, Pansexual loves spanking…” he sings in one. Another even more colorful and flowery, spotted by Nice morning Wednesday, was no longer online this Thursday. “My anal fistula hurts me, I’m giving up facial anal sex,” he hummed. 20 minutes was also able to have access to his Instagram publications, which have since been deleted. Their content was consistent. Or perhaps even more problematic. On the account which is now emptied and has private access, where the teacher still presents himself as a “visual artist and photographer”, the latter depicts himself with a knife under his chin or a gun to his head. This photo, shockingly, was accompanied by lyrics from a song by Damien Saez: “One day it’s true I’m going to end up finding myself a gun and I’m going to take to the street, if you move I’ll be destroyed! » Cash. The other specified: “I will wage a war on you like you have never had before!” » On other posts, a 100 euro note and rails of cocaine or even “lolitas” on a beach.
What are the reactions in the school?
Upon discovering the publications, “some parents and I initially thought it was a joke or that his accounts could have been hacked,” explains to 20 minutes Khadija Elouahabi, president of the FCPE (Federation of Parent Teacher Councils) of the Alpes-Maritimes. Once the surprise passed, “it was worry and fear that dominated,” she further specifies. And reports were sent to the head of the establishment on Monday, by email. “The problem is that this teacher allegedly promoted his YouTube channel to several students, minors. It was something known apparently. At the start of the year, before hearing of these posts, we had received some feedback that he could be a little strange, but nothing that could justify us contacting the school management or the rectorate,” explains the manager. She also wishes to clarify that the teacher has in any case “never committed any aggression or violence” in the establishment.
What action was taken?
In addition to emails sent by parents of students, a report made on the Pharos platform (where police and gendarmes check that online content constitutes an offense) was reported to the high school principal on Monday. The latter notified the Nice rectorate on Wednesday, which immediately reacted. “We are investigating the case,” confirms a spokesperson to 20 minutes. According to our information, the teacher in question was absent this Thursday. Could he be sanctioned? Suspended ? The rectorate is committed to providing news quickly. In the meantime, parents are calling for psychological support to be put in place for students.
