Picky Eating: When the kids only want more pasta – Health

By the age of three at the latest, most children become picky about their eating habits. This phenomenon is called “picky eating.” How bad is it if your child only eats pasta and sweets?

At 6 p.m. in the evening, many families start a power struggle at the dinner table. There is chicken with rice and broccoli. The four-year-old shouts: “Yuck, broccoli.” He doesn’t touch the meat. He at least tries the rice, but after five grains of rice he pushes the plate aside. “I want chocolate pudding now.” The mother explains: “The pudding is not good for you. Eat the real food first.” But the child doesn’t care. And then the shouting starts until dessert is on the table.
