Picard partners with Deliveroo for the delivery of its frozen foods

The offer to have frozen food delivered to your home is growing. The Picard chain has in fact joined forces with the British food delivery platform Deliveroo to offer its products in around a hundred cities in France.

“This partnership follows a period of in-depth testing, with 17 stores in Île-de-France,” Deliveroo explained on Monday. According to Emmanuelle Bach Donnard, brand, digital and customer experience director at Picard, this test phase led to the implementation of a “strict protocol for respecting the cold chain during delivery” which made it possible “to consider a lasting partnership with Deliveroo ”.

A “growing” market

The delivery departments have thus been decided so that the average delivery time does not exceed 10 minutes. Due to this constraint, Picard orders through Deliveroo will be limited to around 100 cities.

In France, Deliveroo already offers products from major brands, such as Carrefour or Casino, but also food stores. “The delivery of extra races is a segment in strong growth of the offer of Deliveroo”, explains the platform which specifies that on an international scale, this segment represents 7% of the total value of the transactions.
