Pianist Daniil Trifonov with Gershwin in Munich. – Culture

Apparently it was close to the heart of pianist Daniil Trifonov to bring George Gershwin’s F major Piano Concerto from 1925 to the stage. Why else would he have agreed to the unfortunately unconvincing Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under the direction of Jakub Hrůša, which also accompanies him in the subsequent performance in Prague? The further performances of this Gershwin tour in the USA with the New Yersey Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Xian Zhang could also be a risk. But perhaps not quite as big as in Munich’s alternative venue, the Isarphilharmonie, which offers pleasantly sensitive acoustics, so guest orchestras should definitely complete a precise acoustic rehearsal before their concert.
