Philosopher Slavoj Žižek on the gender debate: “The left has tripped up” – Kultur

Interviewed by

Andrian Kreye

Last week the Slovenian philosopher and alongside Jürgen Habermas one of the last superstars of the humanities Slavoj Žižek was in Munich. First he celebrated the premiere of his first play “The Three Lives of Antigone” in the Residenztheater. Then he stepped in for the Southgerman newspaper there in the row “Munich is talking” on. There was a lot of talking that evening. About cultural struggles and war, about Hegel and hope. And as is so often the case when Slavoj Žižek starts talking, there’s no stopping him. At some point, however, this evening was over and a few questions were still unanswered. So it’s high time to clear that up with him. Luckily there is the Internet, so you can meet up if one is in Ljubljana and the other in Munich.
