Philippe Geluck’s Cats take over the Champs-Elysées

The Cats land on the Champs-Elysées. From this Friday until Wednesday, June 9, the famous character of the Belgian designer Philippe Geluck, will be declined in 20 imposing statues along the most beautiful avenue in the world.

“The Cat always has a lot of lightness in his words. There, it is heavy, each piece weighs 2.5 tons ”, explained the artist. at France 3 Paris IDF, during the installation of his works on Wednesday.

“The cat walks”

This exhibition called “The cat walks” proposes to discover these bronze statues and two meters high in different humorous situations. The giant sculptures are exhibited on the north side of the avenue, between the Concorde and the Théâtre Marigny.

After Paris, the 20 sculptures will be exhibited in Bordeaux, Caen and in around ten French and European cities. They will end their journey in Brussels at the time of the inauguration of a Museum of the Cat and the drawing of humor.
