A trainer in a forest ropes course in Pfronten (Ostallgäu district) was seriously injured because of a severed rope. Because unknown people had cut the rope around two meters above the ground, she fell from this height to the forest floor without stopping, as the police announced on Sunday.
The 20-year-old trainer came to the aid of a child on the eight-meter-high course on Saturday. In order to get back to the ground, the 20-year-old rappelled down on the rope – which was too short. The woman couldn’t see the end of it from above.
The trainer was taken to hospital with serious injuries to both wrists. The Füssen police station is now investigating bodily harm and damage to property – and is looking for witnesses.
