Peter Weibel Visiting the outgoing director of the ZKM in Karlsruhe – culture

The disorder in Peter Weibel’s office is legendary. But nothing can prepare you for the landscape of stacks of books and newspapers, letters, e-mail printouts, overflowing bookcases, stuffed bags and boxes that stretches through several rooms on the third floor of the Karlsruhe Center for Art and Media Technology (ZKM). Weibel routinely moves through the entire work of art, which weighs several tons and took over 20 years to construct. The ZKM director speaks of one apparent Disarray. How else could it be? The artist, exhibition curator, art and media theorist finds his way around very easily in his gigantic filing cabinet.
