At the end of April, Disney+ will premiere with “Peter Pan & Wendy”. Now there is a first trailer for the remake of the children’s classic.

Peter Pan & Wendy will be available to stream on Disney+ on April 28th. The reinterpretation of the novel by JM Barrie (1860-1937) and the Disney cartoon classic “Peter Pan” (1953) has now become a first teaser trailer published.

In the live-action film adaptation by art-house director David Lowery (“The Green Knight”, 42), young British actor Alexander Molony (16) embodies the title character Peter Pan, who can be seen in the trailer just like the magical world of Neverland. But other well-known figures also appear in the clip: Jude Law (50) is hardly recognizable as the gloomy Captain Hook with long hair, beard and uniform. Also introduced are Ever Anderson (15) as Wendy Darling and Yara Shahidi (23) as Tinker Bell.

According to the announcement, “Peter Pan & Wendy” is about a young girl Wendy Darling who is afraid to leave her parents’ house. She meets the boy Peter Pan, who refuses to grow up. Together with her brothers and a little fairy named Tinker Bell, Wendy travels to the magical world of Neverland with Peter. There she meets the evil pirate captain Captain Hook and begins an exciting and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever.

Years of work on the film

“When shooting ‘Peter Pan & Wendy,’ our goal was to make a film that honors both the original text by JM Barrie and Walt Disney’s animated adaptation,” explains David Lowery, co-author of the film with Toby Halbrooks script is responsible, in a statement. “We wanted to infuse our retelling with emotional truthfulness, an open heart and a great desire for adventure.”

Hundreds of “incredible artists” spent years bringing this film to screens, Lowery said. “I look forward to audiences seeing her work, embarking on this journey and rediscovering this timeless story from a new perspective.”
