Pet supplies – Fressnapf plans 400 new stores – Economy

The pet supply chain Fressnapf intends to further expand its leading market position in Europe. In the next three years, 400 new stores are to open across Europe. The chain also wants to further strengthen its online presence. “We don’t just want to defend our market leadership, we want to expand it,” said Fressnapf founder and owner Torsten Toeller. Last year Fressnapf achieved the greatest growth in sales in the company’s history. Across Europe, the company increased its sales by 19.8 percent to 3.17 billion euros. According to their own estimates, the group grew almost three times faster than the market. In Germany, sales increased by 15.4 percent to 1.8 billion euros.

For the current year, however, the Fressnapf boss no longer expects such a leap in sales.
