Heiner Lauterbach does not feel superior to young colleagues

As an honorary professor, actor Heiner Lauterbach sees himself primarily as a helper, like-minded person – and also as a fellow sufferer. His young talents need two things, as he explains.
TV star Heiner Lauterbach has been teaching young actors as an honorary professor since 2019 – although he does not appear to be very authoritarian in his own opinion.
«I can see that I am incredibly happy to be at their side in an advisory capacity. And see me more as a helper, like-minded person and also a fellow sufferer. Because you also have a lot of suffering in this job, “said the 68-year-old (” grandson for beginners “) of the German press agency about working at a media college in Berlin.
The multi-award-winning actor explained: “I enable young people to avoid a lot of mistakes in this profession. And getting a lot of things right in advance that I did wrong because I didn’t have someone on my side to give me tips. ” His job is painful because it is associated with even less security and even more dangers than others. “Even there, not all that glitters is gold,” said Lauterbach of the dpa. He would only advise against this, however, “if two things are not sufficiently available – talent and passion”.
At the turn of the year on ZDF, Lauterbach can be seen as a very power-conscious character. In the two-part series “Murder in the Family – The Rubik’s Cube”, starting Monday, December 27th, at 8:15 p.m. – alongside Petra Schmidt-Schaller (“Die Toten von Marnow”) – he is a dictatorial building contractor and head of a broken family . Michael Schneider (“Die Toten vom Bodensee”) directed the film.
