The former President of the USA chatted with presenter Klass Heufer-Umlauf during a performance in Zurich. Obama is also scheduled to come to Berlin for another show in May.

Barack Obama chatted about his family and a bit about politics in front of around 10,000 paying guests in Zurich. The audience gave the ex-US President a reception with much applause on Saturday.

The 61-year-old coqueted that he was only the fourth most popular with Obama. His wife Michelle and daughters Sasha and Malia are more popular. Michelle Obama performed as a background singer at a concert by US rock star Bruce Springsteen in Barcelona on Friday evening.

According to estimates, there were a good 10,000 guests in the audience in Zurich. They had paid the equivalent of up to 560 euros for the card. Obama chatted on stage with the German moderator Klaas Heufer-Umlauf, known from the entertainer duo “Joko and Klaas”.

Obama said the Oval Office in the White House isn’t as big as people think. He is proud of the introduction of health insurance for everyone and he advises his daughters not to despair, even if the climate protection efforts are not progressing as quickly as one would hope.

Obama came from Barcelona. He is said to have stayed in Zurich for less than three hours and flew on to Amsterdam in a private jet, the media reported. A similar show is planned there on May 1st, and another in Berlin on May 3rd. The organizer said nothing about the fee. There was speculation that an amount in the millions would go to Obama’s foundation.
