Penzberg: Interview with nature photographer Konrad Wothe – Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

Since the corona pandemic, the award-winning animal filmmaker Konrad Wothe has only worked in the Bavarian Oberland. A conversation about the magic of nature and how to learn to really experience it.

Konrad Wothe was eight years old when he started taking photos. Ten years later he won first prize in physics in the “Jugend forscht” competition for a panorama camera he designed himself. A short time later he accompanied Heinz Sielmann (“Expeditions into the Animal Kingdom”) on filming. Then he knew that he wanted to be a nature filmmaker too. After studying biology with a focus on behavioral research, the native of Munich went into business for himself, traveled to the most beautiful and remote places on earth and won more than 30 prizes in international competitions. Konrad Wothe has lived in Penzberg with his family since 2003.
