The accused, a 69-year-old pensioner, said he was something of a “sugar daddy” about his relationship with a young mother and her young daughter. The two lived in the eastern district of Ebersberg, the accused was their neighbor from 2006. At the time, he took care of the 20-year-old mother and her child because his father didn’t do it. Sometimes he invited both of them on vacation and gave them gifts.
The pensioner, who has had to answer to the 4th criminal chamber at the Munich II Regional Court since Monday, is said to have met her underage girlfriends through his neighbor’s daughter and, according to the prosecutor’s office, sexually abused them. There are four assaults. In a second indictment, the public prosecutor charged the pensioner with a further twenty counts of sexually abusing a girl. Later, when she was over 14 years old and legally a teenager, the 69-year-old allegedly assaulted her 80 times, prosecutors said.

The alleged assaults on the five girls are said to have occurred between 2012 and early April 2019. Among other things, when one of them stayed with his girlfriend in the eastern district and the pensioner visited his mother at the same time. The 69-year-old is said to have molested the then only ten-year-old sleeping girl. A year later, when the same child went on a trip to a wooded area with his girlfriend and the accused, he is said to have abused the girl on a hill, according to the indictment.
At the start of the hearing, the chairman, Judge Martin Hofmann, asked the pensioner about himself. The 69-year-old had already been in prison for eleven years for robbery, but he was also a successful businessman. As a medical technician, he is said to have achieved great prosperity in Italy. The defendant assured the court that there was still “enough” of the money. Originally it should have been an amount of 365 million euros. The money is stored in depots abroad.

And what he said about the allegations in the indictment, Judge Hofmann asked the pensioner. “I have nothing to do with that,” he replied immediately. The chairman asked how the victims would then accuse him of sexual abuse. The 69-year-old said he suspected that the friends of his neighbor’s daughter were jealous because he gave the girl and her mother gifts. So the alleged victims then said “nonsense”? Hofmann asked again. “They’re all connected, they’re killing me,” the pensioner commented on the judge’s rebuke. “Then we just have to hear the witnesses – I don’t know what will come of it,” said Judge Hofmann to the accused. He replied: “If there was anything to it,” he would admit it. “I haven’t done any of those things.” The process continues.
