January 23, 2020 – Wuhan goes into lockdown
On January 23, 2020, all traffic came to a standstill in the southern Chinese city of Wuhan. No bus, train, domestic flight, subway or ferry leaves the city of ten million, whose residents are repeatedly instructed over loudspeaker announcements not to leave the city under any circumstances. However, international shipping and international flights will initially remain unaffected by this ban, and hundreds of thousands of passengers will continue to fly from the infected areas all over the world for several weeks.
