Paternity leave: Henkel gives fathers special paid leave – Economy

Since SAP is hesitating, Henkel is now a pioneer: The Düsseldorf-based consumer goods company gives both parents eight weeks of parental leave with full pay when a child is born. In Germany, mothers continue to receive their net salary for eight weeks after giving birth. This is determined by the Maternity Protection Act. Fathers in particular benefit from Henkel’s regulation in this country. The software company SAP announced in September that fathers could stay at home for six weeks after the birth with full pay. But the DAX group recently cashed in on this promise.
