Patchday: Adobe closes malicious code vulnerability in Substance 3D Painter

Adobe’s patch day in May is very manageable and only one application is affected by security vulnerabilities. The developers have closed a dangerous vulnerability in Substance 3D Painter.

As indicated by a warning message, a total of 14 vulnerabilities have been closed. Of these, Adobe classifies eleven as “critical” a. In all cases, attackers could provoke memory errors and thereby push and execute malicious code on systems. In at least one case, in order to launch an attack, attackers would have to get victims to open a prepared file, explain the discoverers of the vulnerability from Trend Micro’s Zero Day Initiative.

All platforms are said to be affected by the gaps. The developers state that the security problems in the Version 8.3.1 to have done away with. All previous releases are supposed to be vulnerable.
