Party Congress of the Greens: Omid Nouripour before the ordeal

Green board member Omid Nouripour is many things: chief diplomat, party leader and crisis avoider. At the party congress, he has to keep the peace within the party and at the same time appease the traffic light partners. Will the ordeal succeed?

It certainly does no harm for the Greens to have someone like Omid Nouripour at the helm of the party in these times. He is friendly, funny, can get along with everyone and, above all, he polarizes less than Ricarda Lang, with whom the 47-year-old has shared the presidency of the Greens for nine months. Nouripour, on the other hand, is the green diplomat. In 15 years in the Bundestag, the experienced foreign policy expert has learned what it takes to tie conversation threads, open channels and settle disputes. He can now exercise these skills in several places. Because in these already warlike days it is a matter of saving two more peaces at the same time: the coalition peace and the party peace.
