These are the new state chairmen of the Bavarian Greens

Partial leadership change in the Bavarian Greens: After two exciting battle votes, the party has a new chairman duo. One of the previous incumbents has been voted out.
The Bavarian Greens will in future be led by two women: In addition to the incumbent Eva Lettenbauer (31), long-time member of the state parliament Gisela Sengl (63) was elected as the new state chairwoman. The 63-year-old ultimately won a vote at a party conference in Lindau against, among others, incumbent Thomas von Sarnowski (36).
Initially, Lettenbauer only narrowly prevailed against Sengl: In the first battle vote, Lettenbauer received 164 of 321 votes – that’s 51 percent. Sengl received 154 votes or 48 percent. There was one vote against and two abstentions.
Sengl then ran again in the vote for the second chairman position – and won, just as narrowly as Lettenbauer before: she received 164 of 322 votes, also 51 percent. von Sarnowski received 152 votes or 47 percent.
Another challenger, Robert Herbst from the Ostallgäu district association, received four votes. There was one no vote and one abstention. The Greens became the fourth strongest force in the state elections in Bavaria and are in the opposition.
