At the beginning of January, Sahra Wagenknecht founded the alliance named after her. The BSW is now looking forward to the European elections on June 9th.
The new Sahra Wagenknecht alliance has overcome a hurdle in taking part in the European elections on June 9th: The new party says it has collected 18,000 signatures from supporters with the necessary certificates of voting rights – significantly more than the 4,000 required by the electoral law for new parties Signatures.
“The return is fantastic,” said Wagenknecht on Monday. “In a very short space of time, we received far more than the required signatures. This now ensures that the BSW can take part in the European elections.” The response suggests that many want a change in policy.
Wagenknecht founded the party at the beginning of January. The European elections are the first vote that the BSW is taking part in.
