Only one in 1000 people on this planet breathes air that is clean enough according to World Health Organization (WHO) criteria. This is the result of a model calculation presented by researchers from China and Australia on Monday. Virtually everyone is exposed to unhealthy levels of particulate matter. Nearly seven million people died prematurely in 2019 because of polluted air. And that’s not a problem for other people in other parts of the world, it’s also happening in Europe, in Germany.
