The parliamentary holidays have begun in Berlin, and politicians also need a holiday from time to time. And yet all members of the Bundestag should be clear: In the summer of displeasure 2022, it will at best be a holiday on demand. What if the war in Ukraine escalates? The Russians permanently cut off the gas? Inflation rising as fast as the euro crashes? And the virus is still there.
