For every new apartment in Munich, a parking space must be built. But this pollutes the environment, is expensive – and, some believe, unnecessary. So should the regulation be overturned?
Her “Loge” project in Neuperlach will almost be five years old. Melanie Hammer has built 174 new condominiums with her BHB group of companies, as well as an underground car park with 174 parking spaces. Sometimes, says Hammer, she or someone from the company still has work there. “And no matter what time of day we get there, the underground car park is mostly empty. And this isn’t the only huge garage we’ve built where this is the case.” It is very similar with a project in Haar. “We don’t need all the parking spaces that we currently have to build,” says Hammer.
